Biography
Pinhead Circus originated in 1988 when Jimmy Pinhead on vocals and guitar, Trelvis on bass, and Otis on drums first assembled the band amid efforts to stay warm amid the Colorado mountains, drawing inspiration from the Descendents along with skating and malt liquor. Their debut full-length, Detailed Instructions for the Self Involved, surfaced only in 1997 once BYO Records took notice following numerous live appearances and various compilation contributions. The follow-up, Everything Else Is Just a Far Gone Conclusion, appeared two years afterward and introduced Brandon Barnes on drums. Barnes soon departed for Rise Against, prompting the addition of Dave Fantastik on drums plus Jordan Hauser handling guitar and backing vocals. The resulting lineup delivered Fall in Love All Over Again via Soda Jerk Records during fall 2000, then returned to BYO for Black Power of Romance the following spring. Soda Jerk later documented a performance with the 2002 release Live at Last.
