Biography
Pink Playground operates as a duo from Houston, Texas, drawing on the shoegaze and noise-pop sounds of the 1980s for its recordings. Revivalists Tara Tyson and James Wing, echoing the approach of My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, and the Jesus and Mary Chain, craft washed-out, dreamy melodies that sit beneath layers of guitar texture. The pair chose video promotion over live performances, pairing the track “Come Find Me” with sequences from the 1968 French film Le Révélateur. Following the 7" singles Sunny Skies and Ten, Pink Playground issued its first full-length album, Destination Ecstasy, through Mexican Summer in 2011.
