Biography
The New York outfit Pist-On centers on the foundational presence of Henry Font, who supplies guitar, lead vocals, and songwriting, together with Val Ium, who handles bass and background vocals, resulting in a sound built from dense, mid-tempo guitar riffs interwoven with occasional vocal harmonies. Shortly after the 1996 appearance of the band’s debut album Number One, lead guitarist Paul Poulos and drummer Danny Jam Kavadlo both exited, an album that drew scant notice in the United States while earning strong praise from British critics. Three years later Pist-On resurfaced with the 1999 album Sell Out, now featuring guitarist Burton Gans and drummer Jeff McManus.
