Biography
Since the 1970s, North Carolina’s folk and Americana circles have steadily expanded, and singer/songwriter PJ Brunson ranked among the earliest figures to cultivate a local following. After earning a music degree from Winthrop University, she established Charlotte as her home base and launched a regional performing career. Although she had already logged numerous live appearances, her first nationally issued recording, the 2002 CD Come Hell or High Water, appeared only then. Created with writing partner Jim Brindle, the set delivered a subdued, acoustic approach that echoed the styles of Nanci Griffith and Joan Baez.
