Biography
Few anticipated that a couple of musicians who first crossed paths during work on a Modest Mouse record would launch a venture tagged with terms like grindcore, industrial metal, and death metal, yet Chicago, Illinois outfit Plague Bringer did exactly that. The project took shape in late 2002 when vocalist, guitarist, and programmer Greg Ratajczak joined vocalist and lyricist Josh Rosenthal, and the pair deployed a programmable drummer to deliver their debut album, As the Ghosts Collect, the Corpses Rest, in 2006. Recordings and stage performances soon earned the group support slots alongside Brutal Truth, Pig Destroyer, Deicide, and the Red Chord. Seventh Rule Records issued the follow-up set, Life Songs In a Land of Death, in 2008.
