Plateau

Following Skinny Puppy's dissolution, cEVIN Key, the group's longtime member and producer, turned his attention to several different endeavors that encompassed Teargarden, Doubting Thomas, and Download. Key's Plateau collaboration, which brought in Phil Western (aka DJ Phil) of Off & Gone together with Download's Anthony Valcic, yielded some of his most danceable output by layering trance accents over industrial textures. Plateau inked a deal with Hypnotic, the dance-focused subsidiary of Cleopatra, and delivered its debut album in May 1997. The remix EP Dutch Flowers appeared two months afterward, while 1999 saw Plateau resurface with Spacecake.
