Pompeii

Indie rock quintet Pompeii emerged from Austin's music community, drawing influence from atmospheric acts like Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai while earning nods to Death Cab for Cutie. The group features Dean Stafford handling vocals and guitar alongside Erik Johnson on guitar, cellist Caitlin Bailey, drummer Rob Davidson, and bassist Shane Stevens. Eyeball Records signed the band right after their performance at the 2005 South by Southwest festival, which paved the way for their first full-length release, Assembly, arriving in October 2006.
