Biography
Spanish pop/rock outfit Poniente came together following the dissolution of the female rock band Destino. The group began committing original material to tape in 1993 and soon secured an opening slot alongside the legendary Lagartija Nick. After completing a demo in 1994 and issuing a promotional disc in October 1997, Poniente received an honor from a journalists’ association in 1998 recognizing its impact on local contemporary music.
