Poundhound

Doug Pinnick, who serves as bassist and vocalist in King's X, also belongs to the side projects Supershine and Poundhound. Poundhound operates chiefly as Pinnick's solo outlet, with the frontman managing every vocal, guitar, bass, and production role while Jerry Gaskill, his King's X colleague, supplies the drumming; Metal Blade has so far issued two Poundhound albums, the 1998 release Massive Grooves From the Electric Church of Psychofunkadelic Grungelism Rock Music and the 2001 follow-up Pineappleskunk. The project's sound remains near to that of King's X yet favors more direct songwriting and a heavier funk orientation. In support of the second album Pinnick embarked on his first extensive solo tour of the United States.
