Biography
London-based rock trio Primitive Parts unites guitarists Kevin Hendrick and Lindsay Corstorphine with drummer Robin Christian, drawing on the former pair’s shared past in Male Bonding and Corstorphine’s concurrent role in Sauna Youth. The three musicians first crossed paths in 2012 while employed at the same Crouch End record shop, where they hatched plans for a venture modeled on the spirit of “Stiff Records in the ’60s.” Naming the Kinks, the UV Race, Swell Maps, and early Brian Eno among their touchstones, the group issued several singles in early 2014 before securing a contract with the respected indie label Trouble in Mind Records in early 2015. Captured to analog tape during a brief studio session spanning just a few days, their first full-length Parts Primitive appeared later the same year.
