Biography
A proud Colombian-American raised on Boston’s eastside, the city-rooted rapper Primo Profit, also known as Periko Preme, spits menacing bars whose gritty edge echoes Jadakiss. His lyrics revolve around street life and drug culture, drawing self-styled inspiration from fellow Colombian Pablo Escobar. Affiliated with the Money Mobb clique, he dropped the 2012 project Colombian Necktie, which included the cuts “Reza por Mi” and “Mass Pike Whippin,” and continued issuing mixtapes such as Herb & Turf. Following the 2017 release of the 3 for 100 EP, he unveiled the full-length Locksmith, boasting beats from Teyo and V-Don alongside guest spots from Dave East, Winna, Radar, Conway the Machine, and Jadakiss. The subsequent year saw the arrival of the soulful Columbian Export, which showcased fellow Colombian MC Crimeapple together with Phinelia and Dimelo; the project’s production was supplied by the Columbians (Maluma, Jadakiss, Wiz Khalifa) as well as Teyo, Vinyl Villain, MichaelAngelo, and MedeBean Raw.
