Biography
Atlanta-based DJ and producer Chris Brann, already known for his house recordings under the Wamdue Project and Wamdue Productions monikers, pursued an additional outlet in P'taah. This endeavor saw him expand beyond conventional house structures by blending elements of jazz, drum'n'bass, funk, and soul. His debut P'taah release, the album Compressed Light, appeared on Ubiquity Records in early 1999, with the companion remix set Decompressed arriving the following year. The year 2000 also witnessed an unforeseen dancefloor success for the 1998 Wamdue production "King of My Catle." Rather than leveraging that momentum through a subsequent Wamdue album, Brann issued his next P'taah full-length effort, Staring at the Sun, in 2003.
