Biography
Los Angeles-based Purest Form fuses industrial metal with electronic body music, drawing from Ministry, Front 242, and Nine Inch Nails. This dark aesthetic produced the self-titled debut EP, whose opening track "Broke" delivered the raw clash of hardcore metal riffs and brooding dance pulses.
The group assembled in 2023 with vocalist Story Beeson, guitarist/programmer Madison Woodward, and bassist Riley Joyner. Prior to relocating to Los Angeles, Beeson had already fronted grindcore acts in Nashville starting at age 14. After arriving in California she crossed paths with Woodward, who had been composing for his various projects while developing solo material. Their shared affinity for heavy, ominous sounds sparked an immediate creative connection. With Joyner on board, the trio began shaping original material that led straight to "Broke." Evoking the visceral intensity of Nine Inch Nails' Broken alongside the pounding force of Ministry and KMFDM, the single highlighted Beeson's signature feral delivery and shredded-throat screams. Purest Form issued their debut EP in March 2024.
