Quatropaw

Quatropaw emerged as a pop/rock outfit based in Austin, Texas, earning victories in multiple nationwide songwriting competitions yet opting to stay largely self-reliant amid the recognition. In 1992 the group came together after singer/guitarist Jason Richard encountered Beth Richard at an open mic night in Wisconsin. Their joint travels continued until circumstances left them in Austin, where they connected with drummer Derek Hatley. Once the band was established, the members cut two albums that featured a changing roster of bassists until 1998, the year they met David Warren and installed him as their permanent bassist. Landing the songwriting prize from Rolling Stone led to a contract with British indie Neptune Records, which issued their 2001 album Flight.
