Biography
Quiet Life traces its origins to New London, Connecticut, once a bustling whaling port, yet now operates from Portland, Oregon, the shaggy stronghold of indie folk. The band fashions expansive, twang-infused Pacific Northwest Americana that echoes the Lumineers, Head and the Heart, Shovels & Rope, and Trampled by Turtles. In 2006 brothers Sean Spellman, who supplies vocals and guitars, and Ryan Spellman, who handles drums along with occasional singing, assembled the quartet with bassist Paul Dutton and guitarist Craig Rupert; their debut album Act Natural surfaced in 2007, Big Green followed in 2011, and the third long-player Wild Pack arrived in 2013.
