Biography
Maria Quiles and Rory Cloud, both singer/songwriter/guitarists, make up the contemporary folk duo Quiles & Cloud, which came together in San Francisco, California during 2011. The pair earned notice for their somber, scenic storytelling approach together with an elegant, spare acoustic sound, issuing their first album, Long Time Coming, during the summer of 2012. Seminole Star appeared in 2014. Produced by Grammy-winning banjoist Alison Brown and including upright bass from frequent collaborator Oscar Westesson, Beyond the Rain marked their third LP and first outing on Compass Records in 2016. The pleasantly stripped-down Shake Me Now then arrived in March 2017.
