Race Car Riot

Forming an emo quartet based in Houston, Texas, Race Car Riot brought together singer/guitarist Jason Jordan, guitarist Carl Weir, bassist Jeff Barrea, and drummer Buck Gambill. The single they issued on Red Jaguire in 1997 so impressed Deep Elm Records owner John Szuch that he created the label’s acclaimed Emo Diaries series expressly to feature Race Car Riot and additional emo acts from outside the New York City scene. A split EP shared with Appleseed Cast and Planes Mistaken for Stars appeared in 1999.
