Biography
Radar Eyes fuses psychedelic and garage sounds from the 1960s with 1970s art rock plus 1980s new wave and post-punk to shape its singular brand of present-day noise pop. The Chicago lineup came together in late 2007 when guitarist/vocalists Nathan Luecking and Anthony Cozzi joined drummer Shelley Zawadzki, formerly of noise punkers Night of the Hunter, and bassist Kenny Rasmussen, previously of No Funeral; Luecking and Rasmussen have since exited, with guitarist Russ Calderwood and bassist Lucas Sikorski stepping in. Plustapes issued the band’s debut, a self-titled cassette EP, in March 2010, after which HoZac released two singles later that year and the following autumn. HoZac then put out Radar Eyes’ self-titled full-length in February 2012.
