Raghu Dixit

Raghupathi Dixit, a Bangalore resident, spent nearly ten years writing and staging folk-rock material before issuing his first album in 2008. He initially served as lead singer of the widely praised underground group Antaragni and later fronted Raghu Dixit Project, crafting pieces that fused English, Hindi, and Kannada while remaining both energetic and emotionally resonant. After completing formal training as a Bharatnatyam dancer, Raghu elected to pursue songwriting full-time and toured extensively throughout India ahead of his debut release. Although best known for a traditional acoustic alternative approach, his various ensembles drew on many of Bangalore’s strongest underground musicians, thereby revealing the creative inspiration that non-mainstream listeners continue to value.
