Biography
Kyp Malone, who participates in both TV on the Radio and Iran, pursues individual artistic expression via Rain Machine. His independent efforts actually precede his involvement with those bands, commencing upon his relocation to New York City in 2000, at which time he performed and recorded under the designation "Black Lights". Upon notification from a Texas ensemble sharing that title, he adopted the Rain Machine name instead. In the summer of 2009, he entered into an agreement with Anti- Records, resulting in the autumn issuance of the self-titled Rain Machine album that blended jazz and bluegrass influences with energetic, groovy rock compositions.
