Emerging from Gothenberg, Sweden, RAM took shape in 1999 as a melodically charged, hard-hitting retro-metal unit assembled by guitarist Harry Granroth to summon the vintage sonic spirit of benchmark hard rock acts such as Iced Earth, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, and Iron Maiden. The core lineup features vocalist Oscar Carlquist, drummer Morgan Pettersson, bassist Tobias Petterson, and guitarist Martin Jonsson. Their independent EP Sudden Impact surfaced in 2003. Momentum gathered two years later with the release of the debut studio album Forced Entry, which drew excellent reviews and secured supporting slots alongside Gamma Ray and Dark Tranquillity. AFM issued the sophomore release Lightbringer in 2009, and a 2011 deal with Metal Blade led to the third and fourth albums, Death and Svbversvm, appearing in 2012 and 2015.
