Biography
Sebastian Meissner, the German electronic music producer born September 27, 1969, in Czenstochowa, Poland, adopted Random_Inc as one pseudonym among many. Under this name he issued conceptual sound collage productions exploring the intersection of Arab and Jewish culture in Jerusalem. While residing in Frankfurt, Germany, he first engaged with electronic music and there encountered Achim Szepanski, founder of the seminal German techno label Force Inc. and its several offshoots. Meissner’s recording debut occurred in 1999 through a partnership with Ekkehard Ehlers; the resulting Autopoieses album La Vie à Noir appeared on Szepanski’s Mille Plateaux label. In the following years he released a series of solo albums under additional monikers: Selected Random Works (2000) as Random Industries, Jerusalem: Tales Outside the Framework of Orthodoxy (2001) and Walking in Jerusalem (2002) as Random_Inc, The Very Best of Bizz Circuits (2002) as Bizz Circuits, and, as Klimek, Milk & Honey (2004), Music to Fall Asleep (2006), and Dedications (2007).
