Ravine

Following the 1995 dissolution of Ritual Device, the Omaha noise outfit, its three surviving participants—Eric Ebers on drums and vocals, Mike Saklar on guitar and vocals, and Randy Cotton on bass and vocals—established Ravine. The group sustained the earlier band’s emphasis on bass-driven angst while taking cues from the Jesus Lizard, Shellac, and Killdozer. Two years after Ravine formed, -ismist Records preserved that approach on the self-titled full-length issued in 1997.
