Ray Schinnery, a blues guitarist, songwriter, and singer based in New York City, has built a solid regional reputation while holding potential for broader national recognition in the years ahead. His self-titled album, Al Grey and Clark Terry Introduce Ray Schinnery, appeared on C&D Records in 1992.

Raised in New York City, Schinnery absorbed influences from jazz guitarists and classic rhythm & blues throughout the early 1950s. A 1952 performance by B.B. King convinced him to dedicate his career to blues. After turning professional in the mid-1950s, he toured or recorded with Jimmy Witherspoon, Big Mama Thornton, Big Maybelle, King Curtis, and Tiny Grimes. He has also supported backing bands and artists including Nancy Wilson, Stanley Turrentine, David "Fathead" Newman, Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes, and Gloria Lynne.

Schinnery leads his own band at clubs throughout New York City.
