Biography
Ray Wonder, a Swedish pop ensemble, came together in Umea during the early 1990s. Its members included vocalist/guitarist Henrik Andersson, formerly of Komeda, bassist Toft Stade, previously with Shredhead, drummer Per Helin, ex-Puffin, and guitarist Ludvig. The quartet assembled an album's worth of material in just two months. Pele Henricsson, Stade's stepfather, made his studio available, allowing the band to track and mix the songs across two days. Discouragement nearly prompted the group to dissolve until Helin played the results for acquaintances at North of No South Records. The label responded with such enthusiasm that it issued the recordings. Their debut, Hurray, arrived in 1994. Two EPs and a single preceded the second album, 1996's Good Music. After another pair of singles, A New Kind of Love appeared in 2000.
