Biography
New York native Reina, whose name translates to “Queen” in Spanish, first took up singing under the influence of her mother’s own youthful stage appearances. Her commitment to pop crystallized after she performed the number “Out Here on My Own” in a production of the musical Fame. Backup-vocal work for contemporary rhythm & blues diva Deborah Cox and dance music artist Corina supplied the opening she needed. The Hex Hector–produced debut single “Find Another Woman” rose to number two on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart and earned a nomination at Miami’s Winter Dance Music Conference. “Anything for Love” appeared shortly thereafter.
