Biography
Originating in Sunderland, England, the Oi! punk outfit Red Alert issued their debut album We've Got the Power on the No Future imprint during 1983. Bankruptcy at the label left the group without direction, leading to their dissolution after failing to secure acceptable deals elsewhere. The ensemble regrouped in 1990 to resume studio work, bringing aboard drummer Keith "Stix" Warrington, previously with Cockney Rejects and Angelic Upstarts, along with bassist Gaz Stoker from London Red, to complete the 1992 release Blood, Sweat 'n' Beers. Additional efforts during this period featured Breaking All the Rules, which appeared on Dojo. On November 30, 2022, vocalist Steve "Cast Iron" Smith passed away amid treatment for a blood infection.
