Biography
Formed outside Cleveland, Ohio in 1990 as an after-school endeavor, Red Giant united Alex on vocals and guitar, Brian on bass, Chris on drums, and Damien on guitar to deliver their strongest tribute to Hawkwind. Blending a signature array of jazz, metal, punk, and psychedelic elements, the quartet spent the following five years performing throughout the Midwest alongside admired acts such as Overkill, Zen Guerrilla, Mule, and Voivod. Their efforts led to the 1995 release of the nine-track EP Psychoblaster & the Misuse of Power, which ran seventy-five minutes. Three years afterward came the full-length Ultra Magnetic Glowing Sound in 1998.
