Redcloud

RedCloud, a poignant West Coast rapper of Mexican and Native American heritage, had already cycled through repeated involvement in violent gang activity before reaching ninth grade. Breaking free demanded persistence, yet he rebuilt his path afterward by immersing himself in Bible study alongside hip-hop culture. Blending those influences, he began channeling an optimistic, uplifting message through rhymes aimed at the Los Angeles underground scene. His debut album, Is This Thing On?, surfaced in 2001 and was soon followed by a six-week championship streak in the freestyle battle on Los Angeles radio station Power 106, an accomplishment that prompted an on-air congratulatory call from West Coast legend Kurupt. Traveling Circus arrived in 2003 and led to an extended tour featuring performances at numerous Indian reservations nationwide. In 2007 he issued the positive yet raw Hawthorne's Most Wanted, which included guest appearances from Pigeon John, Kurupt, and dancehall reggae legend Eek-A-Mouse.
