Biography
Although initially focused on jazz guitar, Reggie Lucas attained wider renown through his partnership in a songwriting and production duo. During the early 1970s he performed alongside Miles Davis and Norman Connors, crossing paths with percussionist Mtume during a tour with Davis. The pair subsequently joined forces to craft and oversee hit recordings for multiple acts, above all Stephanie Mills and Phyllis Hyman. Working independently, Lucas also composed and produced tracks for Madonna, Rebbie Jackson, Randy Crawford, and the Four Tops.
