Biography
Portland, Oregon’s Reporter originally performed under the name Wet Confetti and consists of bassist/vocalist Alberta Poon, drummer Mike McKinnon, and guitarist Dan Grazzini. While operating as Wet Confetti, the musicians produced experimental post-post-punk across two albums and an EP, after which their music evolved toward a smoother style shaped by the city’s rising electronic pop community, notably acts like Glass Candy. The trio adopted the Reporter name in 2007 and issued its debut recordings under that identity, Dust & Stars, the following year. Steady composition and tracking in their home studio, together with regular performances in clubs, basements, and warehouses, refined the group’s style into something increasingly polished and singular by the time of its 2010 release, Time Incredible.
