Biography
Hailing from Atlanta, rap duo Revival Season fuse dub, indie rock, and post-punk textures to deliver exuberant narratives and pointed cultural critiques that tackle inner-city crime and racism. Their commanding 2021 single “Iron Warrior” marked the first release, after which an exploratory mixtape and several additional singles appeared before the arrival of their debut album, Golden Age of Self Snitching, in 2024.
The partnership formed when producer and musician Jonah Swilley sought new collaborators following completion of Georgia Gothic by his band Mattiel. He contacted fellow participants in the Georgia music scene, and rapper Brandon Evans, known as BEZ (“be easy”), replied without hesitation. The pair quickly developed a rapport and began writing songs, Swilley constructing tracks around Evans’ vocal performances. “Iron Warrior” surfaced on Heavenly Recordings in 2021 and was soon joined by dubby remixes from labelmate Raf Rundell (the 2 Bears). Outernational, a mixtape hosted, mixed, and co-produced by Rundell, followed in 2023 and broadened the single’s blend of dub, garage rock, and hip-hop. Additional singles and remixes continued throughout the year. Their first full-length, Golden Age of Self Snitching, arrived in 2024 and featured drummers Jordan Manley and Rupert Brown alongside guest rapper Shaheed Goodie.
