Biography
Alto saxophonist Ken Field and trumpeter Scott Getchell established the Revolutionary Snake Ensemble together in Boston. Released in 2003, the ensemble’s album Year of the Snake takes New Orleans brass band traditions as its starting point while folding in an eclectic range of contemporary touches drawn from funk, soul, avant-garde, and further sources.
