Biography
Revolver emerged as a shoegaze outfit characterized by its strong emphasis on melody, issuing three singles through the Hut label—namely Heaven Sent and Angel, Crimson, and Venice—along with a collection compiling those tracks and a single studio album prior to disbanding in the early 1990s. The group distinguished itself from contemporaries by prioritizing songcraft over sonic textures, a tendency that bordered on excess ambition. Originating in London during 1990, its lineup featured Mat Flint handling guitar and vocals, Hamish Brown on bass, and Nick Dewey behind the drums. Flint moved on to Hot Rod by 1993, the year that act put out an album via Caroline. Eventually, he took up the role of bassist in Death in Vegas.
