Biography
Emerging from Los Angeles, Rex Aquarium originated in an earlier project known as the Breaks. That group featured the brothers Charles Wadhams, who handled guitar and vocals, and Christopher Wadhams on bass; both are sons of Bill Wadhams, whose band Animotion scored a Top Ten hit with "Obsession" in 1985. The outfit's debut release, 2004's Privacy, centered on an unusually streamlined approach to indie rock that featured funkish rhythms and a sharp vocal yelp recalling the early New York new wave bands of the late '70s.
