Biography

In December 2004, the Spanish heavy metal band Rhino originated in Bilbao through the efforts of singer/guitarist Javier Gálvez, previously associated with Burial, From the Cross, and Left Hand Riders, together with drummer Julen Gil, who had earlier worked with Subliminal and Positiva. Bassist Miguel Moral joined the lineup, enabling the group to issue the demo Name the Horn Bearer in January 2006. Sergio Robles stepped in to replace Moral shortly before OdioSonoro/7th Gate Records put out Breed the Chosen One in early 2007. A stretch of intensive touring preceded Rhino’s agreement with Arctic Music Group for the American edition of the subsequent album, Dead Throne Monarch, which appeared on February 24, 2009.
