Biography
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Rhonda Thomas brings passion and vocal talent to a style that fuses her deep affinity for jazz and classic soul into a personal brand of alternative R&B. Across the bulk of her professional life she served as a supporting singer, joining tours and sessions with figures such as Isaac Hayes, Luther Vandross, Roberta Flack, Roy Ayers, Sam Moore, and additional notables. An influential presence in Atlanta’s R&B community, she has issued a modest number of solo recordings, among them Breathe New Life (2004) and Listen (2010). Motivated in 2015 by the decade’s studio aesthetic of Quincy Jones, George Duke, and Phyllis Hyman, Thomas issued Vinyl Daze, an album shaped by production work from Khari Cabral Simmons, Daz-I-Kue, and Julius Speed.
