Biography
Born in Panama, the Gaitan brothers first connected with popular music during their studies at the local conservatory, where their earliest performances occurred after they launched the tropical ensemble Impakto. Ricardo Gaitan, who holds a business administration degree, and his brother Alberto Gaitan, who earned a law and political science degree, made their duo debut in 1997 via the album Entrégate and captured the Best Local Artist award that same year. Following their arranging and production work for Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, and Gloria Estefan, among others, Ricardo y Alberto issued a self-titled album in 2001 that contained the hit single "Mi Amor No Es Un Favor."
