This contemporary violinist favors a swing-driven approach over paths in hard bop or free improvisation. His output has centered on duo and trio settings, encompassing four sessions for small independent labels. The strongest of those dates took place in 1984 with the Pizzarellis, revealing clear echoes of Joe Venuti and Stephane Grappelli.
