Biography
As a professional guitarist Richard Lieberson issued recordings on the Flying Fish label. He performed with Vince Giordano's Nighthawks, the big band devoted to 1920s and 1930s arrangements, and maintained fluency across country, country blues, jazz from earlier decades through the 1960s, and numerous R&B idioms and performers. Lieberson wrote the instructional volume Old-Time Fiddle Tunes for Guitar, contributed articles to Jazz Guitars, Guitar Player, and Country Musicians, and supplied various liner notes. He died on September 11, 2006.
