Ricky Ruckus

Originating in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Ricky Ruckus operates as a tireless independent rapper who keeps dropping impactful releases via his own Army of Gorillas Entertainment imprint while earning recognition as one of the area’s most incisive voices.

His profile expanded through a consistent stream of self-issued mixtapes that began in the mid-2000s. Early efforts such as 2006’s Hood Stripes and 2007’s I Swear to God drew notice from nearby listeners and influential local DJs. That pattern of steady output continued across the 2000s, 2010s, and well into the 2020s, encompassing the fittingly named 2015 project Never Not Working along with 2020’s God Got It.
