Biography
Rico Bell, an alt-country and roots-rock singer-songwriter, displays mastery as a multi-instrumentalist on guitar, accordion, melodion, harmonica, and keyboards while crafting absorbing tales whose affable wit conceals an underlying bleakness. His work for the Bloodshot label opened in 1996 with The Return of Rico Bell and continued in 1999 with Dark Side of the Mersey, an album that showcased his supporting ensemble the Snakehandlers.
