Biography
Formed in Manchester during 1981, this British punk outfit put out multiple EPs characterized by their fierce and politically charged content, including tracks such as "Civil Destruction," "Unite & Fight," and "Hate the Law." Dunk Mason, the lead singer, handled distribution for several of these releases via his own Rot imprint before compiling the material into the album There Ain't No Solution. Over time, Riot Squad's entire discography gained significant value in circles dedicated to Oi! and punk music. Anagram Records put out a CD compilation appropriately titled Complete Punk Collection during the 1990s. Concerts by the band, similar to those of other Oi! acts, often turned volatile, and combined with frequent personnel shifts, this led to their fading activity and eventual split by 1984.
