Canadian pop-punks the Ripcordz first formed in 1980, though their debut album Ripcordz Are Go! did not appear until 1988. Guitarist and singer Paul Gott has remained the sole constant member through the years, while bassists and drummers have rotated frequently through the lineup. Two further albums arrived in 1992, Kidnoise and There Ain't No "H" in Ripcordz, Dork-Face, the second of which underscored the group's fondness for extended titles. Additional recordings encompass Your Mother Wears Army Boots But Man She Looks So Cool (1996), Is That a Squeegee in Your Pocket or Are You Just Happy to See Me? (1998), and It's Never Too Late to Annoy Your Parents (2000). The Ripcordz resurfaced in 2003 with What if They Held a Revolution and Nobody Came? via Mayday Records, which then reissued the band's 1988 debut the next year.
