Biography
Ripley Caine, a singer and songwriter based in Chicago, first surfaced toward the close of the 1990s with a bold, unyielding approach that fused the raw texture of indie rock and the introspective leanings of folk. Referencing PJ Harvey and Joni Mitchell among her touchstones, she quickly anchored herself within the Midwestern circuit, issuing a succession of favorably received independent albums and EPs that began with Thrift Store Sweater in 1998. Momentum held steady across the 2000s through releases such as Lover (2003) and The Logic of Love (2006). Following the EPs Not Like Other Girls (2010) and Scotch (2012), she resurfaced in 2016 with Bravo, her first full-length album in ten years.
