Biography

Formed in Finland, the alternative rock group Risto achieved a Top Ten album chart breakthrough in 2009 via their fourth studio release. The lineup features Risto Ylihärsilä handling vocal duties alongside Tuomas Eriksson on guitar, Minna Kortepuro providing bass lines, and Alina Toivanen behind the drums. Their self-titled first album arrived in 2004. Following that, the 2006 effort Aurinko Aurinko Plaa Plaa Plaa marked their entry into the mainstream and reached the number 12 position on the Finnish albums chart. Teaming up with Kari Peitsamon, they issued The Second Coming of Mr. Jesus H. Christ in 2007, after which came the live recording Risto Live in 2008. The subsequent studio album Sähköhäiriöön from 2009 finally secured them a spot in the Top Ten.
