Biography
The blues threesome River City Blues Band consists of vocalist and guitarist Johnny Goodwin, bassist Joe Miles, and drummer Mike Safron. Although the original lineup differed slightly, the group came together in St. Louis, MO, during 1993. Their early performances took place in small clubs and other venues where they could attract fresh listeners. Gradually, the musicians incorporated additional folk-rock and roots-rock selections into their blues repertoire. The self-titled debut album finally appeared in 2000, with assistance from several local musicians such as drummer Andy Marks, pianist Bob Lohr, and harmonica player Matt Morell. Among the songs featured on this initial release were "I've Been Had," "Got to Find a Baby," "Can't Stand the Pain," "Every Time I See Your Face," "Treat Her Right," and "Little Ditty."
