Biography
Robbie Lane & the Disciples first served as Ronnie Hawkins' backup musicians prior to earning notice as the house band on the Canadian CBC-TV show It's Happening. With a roster consisting of guitarist Terry Bush, drummer Doug Copeland, harmonica player William Cudmore, keyboardist Paul Denyef, vocalist Robbie Lane, tenor saxophonist Paul Mifsud and bassist Gene Track, the ensemble cut numerous singles in the mid-'60s. Robbie Lane, also known as Robin Curry, later attempted a solo career without success in the mid-'70s, after which he and the band reunited during the mid-'80s.
