Myriam Roulet, known professionally as RoBERT, is a French electro-pop singer and songwriter whose imaginative aesthetic has attracted a loyal audience. She first entered the music industry in 1989 after being born on October 14, 1964, and issued her initial commercial recording, the single “Elle Se Promène,” the following year. Her first full-length project arrived in 1993 with the electro-pop album Sine, which her husband Mathieu Saladin co-wrote and produced and which contains a rendition of Kraftwerk’s “Das Modell.”

All later releases likewise benefited from Saladin’s songwriting and production input. The 1997 follow-up, Princesse de Rien, retained an electronic foundation while adding Baroque instrumentation. Commercial visibility reached its height with the 2002 album Celle Qui Tue. Subsequent projects included the 2004 compilation Unutma (N’Oublie Pas), the 2005 live set Robert Live à la Cigale, and the studio album Six Pieds Sous Terre, also from 2005. In 2007 she issued Princess of Nowhere, an English-language collection of her best-known tracks, while the 2008 DVD Haute Couture captured another concert performance. That same year’s studio album Sourde et Aveugle closes with a short interpretation of the Doors’ “The End.” Two EPs, Sorry and Ange & Démon, appeared in 2009.
