Biography
Infused with spiritual themes, Deeble's words accompany a restrained and minimalistic approach reminiscent of classic folk figures such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake. The debut record from his group Days Like These garnered critical acclaim and included a collaborative track with Victoria Williams titled "Rock A Bye." Confined to performances within the Los Angeles region, the band dissolved shortly following that initial output. In 1998, Deeble issued his follow-up project as a solo artist under the name Earthside Down, which benefited from production contributions by Anthony Arvizu alongside Stephen Hodges, the latter renowned for his percussion contributions alongside Tom Waits. Through the addition of cellos, timpani, gongs, and electronic components, these collaborators expanded upon Deeble's economical sonic palette, resulting in a blend that bridges folk traditions with ambient textures.
